Castlecrag Cellar

Summer 17

Speakeasy

Moody

Raw

A wine cellar, hand-dug beneath the family home, was created to store 1000 plus bottles in climate controlled conditions as well as to provide an atmospheric entertaining space, inspired by the speakeasy saloons infamous during prohibition. Complete with its own secret entry door, walls clad in recycled timbers and slate floors, the cellar is a space crafted to evoke the senses, from the scent of vintage barrel timbers, a state-of-the-art sound system playing old jazz classics and the tactility of raw timber, hand-made tiles and aged brass.
